Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ medium (250g) ripe papaya, peeled, deseeded, and sliced
  • 1 cup (240ml) cold water, divided
  • 4 cups (960ml) ice, divided
  • 1 cup (200g) sugar, divided
  • 1 lime, juiced (~50ml)
  • 2 medium (400g total) avocados, peeled and sliced
  • 1 large (300g) ripe mango, peeled and sliced
  • 3 medium (225g total) kiwis, sliced
  • 3 medium (30g total) strawberries, sliced
  • 1 medium lime, cut into wedges for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the papaya slices in a blender. Add ¼ cup of water, 1 cup of ice, ¼ cup of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of lime juice. Blend until smooth for about 3–4 minutes. Pour the papaya mixture into a cup and set it aside.
  2. Clean the blender, and repeat the blending process for the avocados using the same proportions of water, ice, sugar, and lime juice. Pour the avocado mixture into another cup and set aside.
  3. Repeat the blending process separately for the mango, kiwi, and strawberries, creating individual fruit mixtures for each. Pour each mixture into its own cup.
  4. To layer the smoothie, spoon the fruit mixtures into four to six glasses, starting with the densest fruit. Begin with the papaya mixture, followed by the avocado, mango, and top it with the strawberry and kiwi mixture. Spoon the fruits slowly to avoid mixing the layers.
  5. Garnish each glass with a lime wedge.
  6. Enjoy the Tropical Fruit Layered Smoothie with a straw and spoon, savoring each delicious layer!
